Sea Grass Grille

By looks of the menu, this meal should have been out of this world. Sadly it was not, we had the filet and stuffed flounder. The filet was not a good cut of meat, it was tough at medium well. The stuffed flounder was not even heat in temperature and lacked flavor. The cooks, as they clearly weren’t chefs were on their phones or talking while we were there. Our waitress was lovely. Will not come back for the price of go to Alexander’s 10x over

Seagrass Grille was ok for the most part. The food was ok, I ordered the duck, it was fine, the tomato pie was good, however there were some issues that need to be addressed. First, my fiancé ordered the fillet and a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The grilled chicken in the Caesar salad was very strange. Cold, very strange smelling, and just not good. We go to Texas Roadhouse all the time and are used to buying cheaper, low-end fillets. We also got to Jeff Ruby's a lot and are accustomed to purchasing higher-end fillets, this Sea Grass fillet fell on the end much lower than any Texas Roadhouse fillet we've ever purchased. Not only was the steak not remotely temped correctly when they first brought it out, it was more or less inedible. It was almost as if the silver skin had not been removed from the filet and the fat had not been trimmed hardly at all. The entire top portion of the fillet was solely fat. On top of that it tasted very off and looked much different from the other person in our party who also ordered fillet. I've eaten thousands of steaks in my life; ribeye, fillet, NY Strip, Sirloin, Flank Steak, Chateaubriand, and never have I ever tasted a piece of beef the tasted like that. To add to that, she ate literally 2 or 3 small bites of the steak, because the majority of it was fat. Thats all she could stand to eat. We then expressed the issues with it and they proceeded to take it back and we all ordered desserts. The desserts were good and then we came around to the bill. They came to our table and told us that they merely took off half of her inedible fillet. SERIOUSLY?!? A $45 fillet that wasn't worth $10. I would have been embarrassed to have even sent that out as a chef. So not only did we pay half for an embarrassingly bad fillet, the best things we had all night were the desserts. Based on what we've heard this is not a commonality at Sea Grass, but after our experience I'll probably stick with Truffles or Quarterdeck if I want a higher-priced meal.
